Server ports

Who sets a server port

A port’s use is the host’s. A maintenance-group member sets it on this computer in the Janus Service CLI; Janus shows what the host has and never changes it.

An isolated rack switch or VLAN is recommended, not required.

  2. Cable at the controllerThe cable clicks into the LAN socket and its LINK lamp flickers.
  3. Switch port P4The lamp on P4 flickers. If it stays dark, move the cable to a free port (P9–P23). The controller is found by its serial on any port.
  4. Factory resetA reset controller answers on 192.168.0.10 and appears under Not set up. It is reconnected by serial automatically.
